Identity & Branding

Umpqua Ink Print Co., a small screen printing shop located on the campus of Milo Adventist Academy, was established as a place for the academy’s students to work while simultaneously allowing them to be creative and learn practical skills. While mainly focusing on the area of screen printing the client wanted to create a brand identity that would reflect both its work in screen printing as well as the hands-on experience the students would be learning.

The brand identity developed incorporates both of these goals through the creation of its custom logotype and mark. The mark, which has a two-fold meaning, pulls in themes of screen printing through the use of an ink drop. While at the same time doubling as a water drop to give homage to the Umpqua River which flows through the campus and from which the company’s name originates. Though the use of custom lettering the logotype was created to give the brand a more hand made and custom feel to better portray what the company does as well as show the creative and hands-on experiences that would be taught and learned there. As a way to even further connect the new brand with the academy, the custom color palette was created using slight variations of Milo’s primary colors (red and black) as well as including tan, light grey, and charcoal colors to give the brand a more versatile color palette.

Secondary Logos & Badges

With the goal of making the brand as versitile as possible, a slightly simpilar version of the logo was created for use with one solid color. Several custom badges were also created to be used for marketing and business purposes in the form of stickers, patches, social media content and additional t-shirt design options.
